Power Washing in Winter

Power washing can be done at any time of the year. In fact, power or pressure washing may be required in winter for commercial buildings. It’s important that your property looks attractive and well-kept all year round. Cleaning your building or business properly thoroughly, and removing any mildew or mold attached to the surfaces is important for your reputation and the property value.

Here are some of the services a professional can do for you even in winter.

-Pressure washing leaf stains, mildew, mold, walls, driveways, and patio surfaces.

-Power washing the soot and grime from driveways, garage floors, and chimneys.

-You should clean the sidewalks, patio decks, porches, screened enclosures, and walkways.

Not just anyone can power wash your business or home during winter. If you hire a rookie or an amateur he or she can cause significant damage to sensitive surfaces, weaken foundations, or damage insulation.

Here are some tips you need to observe

  • Too much water pressure can cause a lot of damage.
  • You should not power wash underneath vinyl siding.
  • Use the right chemicals when power washing. Each chemical is suitable for only specific surfaces and not recommended for others.
  • Don’t use the same pressure for all surfaces.

Some of the surfaces should never be power washed during winter; such as pets, plants, or furniture. They are fragile and delicate.

Power washing can be done year-round. In winter, however, you will want to take precautions so that water does not freeze on surfaces such as walkways. If you have to power wash on a very cold day, be sure to put down some salt and/or sand if water risks freezing on walkways.
